DWI/DUI/BWI Defense Lawyer

Drinking and Driving Charges or Boating While Impaired

If you have been arrested for either driving while intoxicated (DWI) or for boating while impaired or intoxicated (BWI), The Jonas Law Firm, P.L.L.C., can help. The legal limit for blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is .08 for either a DWI/DUI charge or a BWI charge. As your defense attorney we will be looking at the following types of facts to build your case:

  • Why were you stopped? We will examine the reasons and the legality of the stop.
  • Why were you arrested? Were all the procedures followed to the letter of the law?
  • What was the basis of impairment? Did you refuse the Breathalyzer test? Were your eyes red from a windy day on the lake? Was the Breathalyzer device properly calibrated?

Protecting our client's rights is our main goal. We will gather all the evidence and meet one-on-one with you to develop a defense strategy based upon the facts of your case.  You probably want to know if the prosecution's case against you will hold up in court. After a thorough investigation, we will provide you with a realistic answer to that question.

Protecting Your Driving Privileges

In North Carolina, multiple BWI or DWI conviction both carry the very real possibility of jail time. In addition, a DWI charge can affect your driving privileges as well as your freedom.

Conviction of DWI will result in a minimum of a one year revocation of your driver's license and a possible jail sentence if you have previously convicted of DWI within the past 7 years.
